McGill were appointed by Morgan Sindall to carry out the M&E Work Packages associated with the New Build Primary School in Irvine, North Ayrshire valued at £1.5M M&E
As part of the Services coordination exercise we prepared drawings using REVIT MEP Software which allowed us to produce off-site fabrication drawings and ISO’s to improve productivity on site.
Our scope of work included specialist subcontract packages including Fire Alarm, Intruder Alarm, Door Access Control, IP CCTV, Public Address and Period Bells, Disabled WC, Disabled Refuge, Induction Loop, Voice and Data, Sprinkler System, Ventilation Ductwork and the BEM System,
The main heating source was provided by a Biomass Boiler and 4000 litre buffer vessel, with wood pellet fuel being stored in 2 No. 9 Ton silos. We also installed 3 Natural Gas Boilers, as a back up to the Biomass Boiler Plant
The Ventilation System was designed using 42 No. `Supply` and `Extract` Fans with associated silencers and ancillaries and 3 No Air Handling Units located on the roof of the building.
The lighting scheme was based on the use of low energy luminaires and associated controls to provide energy efficiency. The emergency lighting is controlled and monitored using a centralised PC based system.
