Scott Monument

Edinburgh

McGill was main contractor for the lighting upgrade to the Scott Monument in Edinburgh’s Princes Street. The monument was completed in 1844 and is a listed building standing 200 feet high. Only a few lights still functioned, so we replaced the existing cabling and lighting in line with the council’s sustainable lighting strategy. More than 50 LED luminaires were installed, and were switched on, on the anniversary of Walter Scott’s death. The lighting has greatly enhanced the look of the monument.
