Dundee-based building services and construction company McGill, who operate out of the Dryburgh Industrial Estate, have announced their commitment to support local Junior Football League team, Lochee United
In an announcement made via Lochee United’s Facebook page, current President, Tom McMillan, who has led the club for the past 28 years, will be stepping down as of 31st October. Tom has overseen one of the most successful periods in the clubs 128 year history, winning 19 trophies since the beginning of his tenure in 1992.
Lochee United Club Secretary Marc Stanton commented; We approached Mr Carling as a local businessman who could offer advice and expertise on how to manage and grow our club and to share his connections with us. We are delighted that Graeme has accepted our offer to become the new club President.”
Graeme Carling added; “Supporting our local community has always been important to me personally and the companies that I own reflect my enthusiasm to do our bit to help local causes. The guys at Lochee United got in touch, told me their plans and ambitions for the club and I am glad to be able to support them personally and extend the support of McGill.
“The work that Tom has put into the club is outstanding, he truly has left big shoes to fill. Graciously, Tom has offered to continue to lend his support to the club and his influence and input continues to be of great value to Lochee United.”
Speaking of McGill’s offer of support, Graeme added; “McGill has always played their role in supporting local clubs and it is great to be in a position to continue this tradition. Current circumstances have had a significant impact on local clubs and it is right for businesses like McGill to support where we can.”
