Dundee main contractor, refurbishment, and fit out specialist McGill is celebrating a number of recent contracts wins, and anticipating its busiest summer period so far.

McGill announced its merger with fellow United Capital group company Alliance Electrical Services in March 2021, and since then has continued to go from strength to strength. McGill is now delivering contracts right across Scotland, using its unique in-house all-trades capabilities across its four busy and capable divisions – Contracts, Trades, Development, and Eco.

The merger positioned McGill as a strong and stable mid-tier contractor operating from its headquarters in the North East of Scotland. The company, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, offers clients unmatched breadth across all trades. McGill also gives clients the support of pre-construction planning teams, which manage each project right from initial consultation to successful completion on time and on budget.

With a wide range of contract wins announced already or started this year, including two awards from Caledonia Housing Association with a combined value of £2.6 million and a number of contracts with education and commercial clients, McGill is looking ahead to the busiest summer-autumn period yet.

Contracts which benefit communities

Commercial Director Douglas Smith says, “McGill has many valued long-term clients in the education sector, so summer is always a busy period for us, with refurbishment and fit out projects taking place in universities and schools right across the country. Due to Coronavirus restrictions many of our planned works were delayed and have now begun, taking our tradespeople all over Scotland, from the borders, to Glasgow and Edinburgh, and up north too.

Of course we love to share news of big contracts wins, but McGill’s all-trades offering – and being a proud Scottish SME ourselves – means that we are constantly kept busy delivering many medium-sized contracts that offer real tangible community benefits. As a main contractor we’re proud of the breadth of trades we offer, and our commitment to delivering quality work is reflected in how busy 2021 continues to be.”
