McGill was founded in 1981, and has been delivering for customers across Scotland ever since. With a Scotland-wide footprint and an all-trades approach, McGill has spent the last four decades building a strong reputation as a contractor which consistently delivers quality work.
On 1st February 2019, McGill entered administration after a few years of difficult trading conditions. United Capital, an investment company in the construction and facilities management sector, quickly became KPMG’s preferred bidder, and officially acquired the company in March of that same year.
United Capital set to work quickly righting the direction of McGill, streamlining costs and processes, and making sure the right leaders were in place to take the business forward. One of the earliest priorities for the new McGill was to become a living wage employer, cementing its reputation as a company working with and for the community.
