Henry Brothers (Scotland) appointed McGill to carry out the electrical and security work packages associated with the new build 28 unit care and education facility for young people with significant social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The electrical and security containment systems were installed in the roof void above the accommodation blocks and concealed in walls to accessory and lighting points in each of the rooms and common areas.

We installed a range of recessed and surface mounted anti-ligature luminaires fitted with impact resistant and flame retardant diffusers with anti-tamper fixing screws. We also installed flat plate wiring accessories with rounded corners, secured by anti-tamper screws.

We were also responsible for the supply and installation of the technical furniture in the security room which housed the CCTV monitors and was the central point for the staff attack and access control systems.

Other works carried out by us included the voice and data installation, fire alarm and detection system, bedroom intercom system and the TV Satellite system.

To maintain electrical supplies in the event of power failure we installed a 450kva standby generator set and UPS equipment for essential services.
