McGill carried out Linstone Housing Association’s first re-wire programme.

The project involved the full rewiring, including replacement of consumer units, in occupied flats, a number of which housed tenants requiring sheltered facilities.

As the principal contractor McGill arranged the access with the occupiers, of each property, by postcard drops and personal visits, ensuring that the demands of the programme could be met.

Careful planning of the programme was required to allow for three properties to be rewired per day. Close co-ordination was required with the electricity utility provider to ensure that the new service cut outs were installed prior to commencement of each rewire.

Upon completion of each rewire, each property was cleaned, tested and demonstrated to the tenant.

Tenant Satisfaction surveys, conducted by Linstone HA, indicate 100% satisfaction levels.
